Psychotic Reaction is a high energy rock and roll band from Norman, OK established in 2007. Their influences are many but include The Stooges, MC5, Radio Birdman, 13th Floor Elevators, Count Five, Chocolate Watchband, The Yardbirds, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Wipers, Mudhoney, Dead Meadow, Slayer, Black Flag, Melvins, early country blues music, H.P. Lovecraft, George Orwell, and Lucid Dreams. The two founding members and main songwriters, Nolan and Robert, through various lineup changes over the years, have been touring the U.S. since 2014.
Savage Magic Records will be releasing their 7th studio album Dystopian Anthems for Lotus Eaters on 12″ vinyl in October 2024. The 7-track album was recorded in the summer and fall of 2021.
In April 2024, the band signed with Wet Records to release their 6th album Island of Light on 12″ vinyl. Wet Records will also be releasing their 5th album Ocean of Darkness in early 2025.
This will be followed by more releases through Savage Magic Records including the band’s back catalog of albums dating back to 2010 and unreleased live and studio material from 2018-2019.
In April 2024 ,the group started work on their 8th studio record with Kain on drums and Ryan on bass, who both joined the band over the last two years. The band plans to have it finished in mid-2025.
